The home was listed at $8,000,000 and sold right at the asking price.

Located on arguably the best street in the South Bay, 711 Paseo De La Playa is a spectacular home in a spectacular location.  It shares the same view (some differences as you head up the hill) as the other ocean side homes, but the contour of the bluff has somehow allowed a lower level enterainment area that we’ve only seen on the first few homes.

This top floor condo in the “Sand Castle” just recently closed at a very impressive $1,550,000.  

The Sand Castle is comprised of two buildings….one front and rear building with every unit having big views.  Only the 5th floor (and 6th to an extent) has blocked views due to the top of the front building.  Each building has one bedroom units on every level other than the top…..which happens to be the 4th floor in the front building.  Only the top floors of each building offer 2 bedroom units which is why they are so rare (and the fact that folks rarely want to part with them).  While we don’t know much about this particular unit….we do know that it had panoramic ocean and beach views so congrats to the buyer.

2666 The Strand, listed by Robb Stroyke of Bayside, just closed escrow and is now the highest priced home sale on record in Hermosa Beach.

This beachfront home was not on the MLS and sold off-market at $19,450,000.

This beat out the previous historic high at 2826 The Strand in Hermosa Beach which sold in May of 2023 for $18,590,000.

The home at 2666 The Strand was very unique and certainly not the cookie cutter spec home.   Unlike most rectangular beachfront lots , this one was somewhat triangular with the lot of this and the home next door being subdivided at an angle at some point.  2666 The Stran benefitted from the wide side being beachfront offering an incredible 71 feet of beach frontage.  The home was also huge with almost 7,000 square feet.  The home took full advantage of the oversized frontage with floor to ceilin  window walls and a very unique water feature/ infinity pool out front.  It wasn’t ideal for outdoor space but it certainly gets the attention of passers by.

The home was built in 2013 and sold for $14,000,000 after the tear down home had been sold in 2011 for $6,000,000 land value.

We love this location as it’s so much more private than the Strand, but obviously those that want Manhattan……want Manhattan.

709 Esplanade is huge, remodeled and has an incredible look and feel.  We saw this home years ago and frankly….it was horrible with pink, pink and more pink.  Floors were pink stone, counters were pink stone and walls were pink paint.  Gone is the pink and the home now has a very fresh coastal luxury look.  Interior spaces are incredible, location is incredible and 8 car garage is incredible.  It’s definitely worth a look!

Although beachfront homes in Redondo are incredibly rare this is actually the 2nd oceanfront home to hit the market this week.  The other was o 809 Esplanade hit the market.  This was a land sale with a charming but small and dated bungalow built in 1930 listed at $6,500,000.

709 Esplanade is one of the largest homes ever built in the Beach Cities at almost 9,000 square feet.  Ironically enough we featured this house years ago (not necessarily in a good way) when it sold in 2015.  The home was on the market for almost 3 years and was originally priced in 2012 at $10,000,000 and ended up selling for $6,350,000 in 2015.  What was so unusual about the home was that everything on the inside was pink.  Pink marble flooring, pink tile, pink sculptures…..it was odd.

The home has now been EXTENSIVELY remodeled with an entirely different look and feel.
