Unit #208 was a beachfront 2nd floor room that is tough to beat.
Each hotel/condo room is individually owned and owners can use their condo suites for up to 90 days a year. The rest of the year the condo must be available for rental and the hotel takes care of the rest. This was the unique arrangement with the California Coastal Commission to allow ownership, but more beach access for others.
Each unit is basically the same (a few have slightly more square footage) with a luxury hotel feel. The rear of the room is a semi separated bedroom area with the front being a sitting area. The unit has a small kitchenette and a fireplace along with a small patio out front.

The newest listing on the beachfront home market on the Manhattan Beach Strand is also one of the more recent sales. Having been built in 2022, the home last sold in June of 2023 for $8,250,000 and is now up for sale once again….this time for $9,995,000. We are not aware of any changes to the home since that sale a year ago.
The home is beautiful and also interesting and unique. Upon entry it feels like a single family home but it’s actually a uniquely laid out condo with another unit above. 4016 has both the lower levels so 2 levels of beachfront. Space is efficiently designed and the home definitely has the “cool” factor with impressive built ins, high end finishes and some stunning views of course.
One negative (if beachfront living can have a negative) is that the home is located in the El Porto area of Manhattan Beach and sits behind the beach parking lot of north Manhattan Beach making it a bit more congested and busier than beachfront homes further south.
While this newest listing is not technically beachfont, nor it it technicallly on the Hermosa Beach Strand , it’s a beachfront home for all intents and purposes. The newest listing to hit the “beachfront” home market is a townhome just east of Noble Park across from the Beach House Hotel and offering incredible views of the beach, ocean and the Hermosa Beach pier.
The advantage to being off of the Strand is that it’s much more private….the drawback is that views from lower levels are definitely not what they would be if it were on the Strand. Both the ground floor and 2nd floor views are very limited due to trees in front. As the trees are in the park and not on the property there’s not much to be done about them.
Some of the highlights of this rare townhome include hardwood flooring throughout, bright and open living spaces, three-stop elevator, AC and more. The absolute highlight has to be the rooftop deck featuring stunning ocean views, rooftop jacuzzi, BBQ/kitchen area, mature potted plants for privacy and lounge style seating.
