This was a notable sale not only due to the $10,000,000 price point, but due to the ultra high end beachfront Strand market being very slose. It’s not uncommon to see this level home sit on the market for a year or more so it’s a big deal when this level home sells. The home offers a great location for the Strand as it’s walkable to the Hermosa pier area but not too close to deal with any of the congestion. The home features 5 bedrooms and 5 baths on 3 levels and just under 3,700 square feet. List price is $9,950,000.

Oceanfront Home Still For Sale Redondo Beach – 717 The Esplanade
Some homes have a long history on the market and the home at 717 The Esplande in Redondo Beach is certainly one of them. The home is beautiful and offers one of the best locations in the South Bay. If offers privacy you can’t get on the Manhattan Beach Strand or Hermosa Beach Strand and as it sits up high on the bluff the views are spectacular. The price has been a challenge over time, however. Originally listed in 2013 for an unprecedented (at the time) price of $14,250,000. A year later they changed realtors and lowered the price to $12,999,900 and briefly went into contract but that fell through and the home was again pulled off of the market after about a year. It came back on the market at the beginning of 2019 for $12,000,000 with another realtor and was now reduced to $9,975,000. At this price it is definitely worth consideration as it’s a home that’s hard to duplicate. 717 Esplanade offers over 7,000 square feet on a relatively unheard of 11,000+ foot oceanfront lot. New Oceanfront Home for Sale in the Hollywood Riviera
One of our favorite streets in all of Southern California is Paseo De La Playa on the bluffs of the Hollywood Riviera. The homes along Paseo De La Playa not only sit oceanfront on the bluff, but unlike the homes of the Hermosa Beach Strand and Manhattan Beach Strand, they have incredible coastline views that are just as stunning at night as during the day. This is an unbelievable location as the lots/homes are not only oceanfront but the lots are huge and extend all the way down to the beach. As 425 Paseo De La Playa is one of the lower homes the slopes is a bit more mild and they’ve been able to build a path down to the beach (which is a VERY challenging step for homes without a path as it require California Coastal approval….which they don’t do). Oceanfront Home In the Hollywood Riviera Breaks the South Bay Price Record
In 2018 the highest on market residential sale took place at 417 Paseo De La Playa. We wrote several articles when it first hit the market as well as when it sold. Although it was one address it was really two incrdible parcels of land with two stunning homes being sold as one. With over 62,000 feet of oceanfront lot it was most definitely a legacy property and one that likely won’t be duplicated anytime soon. While there are a few properties currently on the market in the $22,000,000 range, one at 1901 Manhattan Ave in Hermosa Beach and the other at 3001 The Strand in Hermosa Beach, there have only been 3 other homes that have sold in the rarified air of $20,000,000.
417 Paseo De La Playa was an incredible home with unblockable views not only of the ocean, but of both Palos Verdes and the coastline as well. The homes offered over 10,000+ square feet of living space with just about all of it having stunning views.
