Beachfront home sells for $19,450,000 making it the all time high home sale in Hermosa

2666 The Strand, listed by Robb Stroyke of Bayside, just closed escrow and is now the highest priced home sale on record in Hermosa Beach.

This beachfront home was not on the MLS and sold off-market at $19,450,000.

This beat out the previous historic high at 2826 The Strand in Hermosa Beach which sold in May of 2023 for $18,590,000.

The home at 2666 The Strand was very unique and certainly not the cookie cutter spec home.   Unlike most rectangular beachfront lots , this one was somewhat triangular with the lot of this and the home next door being subdivided at an angle at some point.  2666 The Stran benefitted from the wide side being beachfront offering an incredible 71 feet of beach frontage.  The home was also huge with almost 7,000 square feet.  The home took full advantage of the oversized frontage with floor to ceilin  window walls and a very unique water feature/ infinity pool out front.  It wasn’t ideal for outdoor space but it certainly gets the attention of passers by.

The home was built in 2013 and sold for $14,000,000 after the tear down home had been sold in 2011 for $6,000,000 land value.

3001 The Strand Hopes to Become One of the Highest Sales Ever

3001 The Strand is a new listing in Hermosa Beach and is trying to do something virtually unheard of in the South Bay…..top the $20,000,000 price mark.  Listed with Chhabria Real Estate Company the home is priced at $21,000,000.  In our opinion we just don’t see how it’s going to sell anywhere near that number but in the highest end of the luxury market it only takes one buyer.  The home offers 6 bedrooms, 6 baths and almost 6,000 square feet. It also offers 37 feet of beach frontage on an almost 4,000 square foot lot.

This home has quite the history of high listing prices and spending time on the market.  In 2012 when it was new construction it spent a year on the market at $10,999,000 but never sold after a year.  In 2013 it sold at $10,000,000 in 2013 and then was put back on the market a month later at $13,900,000 and once again didn’t sell.  Somehow in 2016 the owners thought that values had jumped to $22,900,000 but once again it sat on the market.  2018 is here and now the home is priced at $21,000,000 and only time will tell if the market has caught up to the price.  It seems extremely unlikely but all it takes is one buyer to think it’s worth it.
