Only a few years ago beachfront home rarely hit the market but that’s changed considerably lately.  These days beachfront homes on the Strand  are very common these days but Strand sales are still rare.

Some of what made this home special was the size and layout, the ideal location in the north Hermosa sand section far from the pier, and the fact that the home next door was original making for great views even from the side of the home.

If there’s already not an abundance of beachfront homes for sale on the Manhattan Beach Strand, the newest listing in Redondo Beach may be worth a look. 

We love this location as it’s so much more private than the Strand, but obviously those that want Manhattan……want Manhattan.

709 Esplanade is huge, remodeled and has an incredible look and feel.  We saw this home years ago and frankly….it was horrible with pink, pink and more pink.  Floors were pink stone, counters were pink stone and walls were pink paint.  Gone is the pink and the home now has a very fresh coastal luxury look.  Interior spaces are incredible, location is incredible and 8 car garage is incredible.  It’s definitely worth a look!

Although beachfront homes in Redondo are incredibly rare this is actually the 2nd oceanfront home to hit the market this week.  The other was o 809 Esplanade hit the market.  This was a land sale with a charming but small and dated bungalow built in 1930 listed at $6,500,000.

709 Esplanade is one of the largest homes ever built in the Beach Cities at almost 9,000 square feet.  Ironically enough we featured this house years ago (not necessarily in a good way) when it sold in 2015.  The home was on the market for almost 3 years and was originally priced in 2012 at $10,000,000 and ended up selling for $6,350,000 in 2015.  What was so unusual about the home was that everything on the inside was pink.  Pink marble flooring, pink tile, pink sculptures…..it was odd.

The home has now been EXTENSIVELY remodeled with an entirely different look and feel.

Just a few years back and a new beachfront listing would have been big news.  Only a few homes alont the Strand listed each year.  That’s clearly no longer the case.  With the newest beachfront  additions of 2826 The Strand and 230 The Strand in Hermosa Beach, there are now 10 homes and properties for sale on The Strand in Hermosa. 

Of the 10 homes currently for sale on the Hermosa Beach Strand all but one are single family homes with the other being a duplex. Many of the old multi-unit properties had been torn down and replaced with beachfront mansions. With an average of 4,259 square feet of interior space…..these are clearly not original beach bungalows.  The available opportunities also average 4 bedrooms and six bathrooms.

The average price for active beachfront listings is currently $11,722,300 and the median list price is $10,5000. The least expensive of the homes for sale is $8,200,000 for the older duplex at 3310 The Strand and the most expensive is today’s newest listing at $18,900,000 for the almost 8,000 giant at 2826 The Strand.
